JULIE JONES
Artist & Muralist
๏ปฟWith over 20 years of experience, I’m incredibly lucky to do a job that really doesn’t feel like work. Art is a wonderful thing that can bring so much joy. I love to see the kids faces when they see their mural and hear the owners comments when I’ve finished painting their dog.
Have fun scrolling through my previous work, check out the testimonials below and most importantly tell all your friends!

๐โ๏ธA nice winter scene for Christmas.โ๏ธ๐ Hope everyone is having a lovely break full of family, friends and food. Thanks to all my lovely clients who have had me in their home/school/workplace this year. Thank you to every single one of you who follows my page, likes my posts and enjoys seeing the art I create. It really means the world to me being self employed. Back to work in January, hopefully not 3st heavier ๐คฃ
๐ฆ๐๐ UNDERWATER MURAL๐ก๐๐
Love this so much! Because this wall was already painted blue and I was able to use this as my background it only took 3 days and it’s a big wall.
All your likes and shares really mean a lot to me so do your bit and I’ll be doing a competition at Christmas to say thank you. ๐

Today marks a year since my brother lost his battle with his brain tumour. I don’t think the date has an effect on me. When I see memories of the murals I was painting around that time and how I felt trying to paint them it does bring it back though. My home is full of memories of him.
I walk past this photo on my stairs everyday and he is always in my thoughts. This chunk of wood ( an old cigar mould) we found on one of our last family walks together in Saltaire. It was in a pile of things labelled free outside a house and I was obsessed so I couldn’t leave it behind. Gary ended up carrying it for the rest of the walk and this picture was from our pub stop halfway. Crazy that this was only 6 weeks before he died. Anyway, I love having all these little reminders about. Life can be very unfair so live it like each day could be your last. Make every moment count and like my sign says ‘It’s not what we have in life but who we have in our life that matters’
My latest safari mural. You’ll notice my last two murals are more centralised on the wall with less background and instead some large leaves to fill. In this way I have managed to fit more animals in for a 2 day mural. Just goes to show how everyone can create their own bespoke mural choosing everything from the type of background, colour and animals that they like. As much as I paint lots of these I try to make sure they are all individual. #safarimural #safarinursery #nurserydecor #mural
Remember when we planted a tree for Gary?.. Well that definitely got eaten by the local wildlife. This is 100% my brothers luck; he was born on the 13th. However we planted lots and one of the #*#$> is going to make it or else it will be renamed Gary’s copse.
It’s been nearly 8 months now and nothing gets any easier, if anything I’m I’m more annoyed that he’s gone but I love to have him keep coming up in my thoughts and walking past here is another reminder to stop and think.
Bailey ignores the crying. ๐คฃ I know Gary wanted to do the Coast to coast walk so that’s my next plan.
My second ever landscape painting. I forced myself to use a larger brush so I didn’t get too fiddly with them and I’m actually really happy with the results. I may move to some bigger ones. They are both of sandbanks/studland beaches.
Let me know what you think and if it’s something you like I’ll keep it up. In the meantime I’m going to put them in my online shop (link in bio) this evening if you’re interested in buying them.

Today was a first. I had a spare canvas, decided to paint a landscape and I don’t hate it!๐
I’ve been watching the latest series of Sky arts Landscape artist of the year and it inspired me. It’s based on a photo I took in the winter months at Sandbanks. What to do with it…
Sell it, bin it, make a collection?

I’m selling some of my old stock of prints for less than half price. Since 2020 I’ve used a much thicker card and slightly thinner mount for prints therefore the quality has gone up and I can’t sell these ones through my website. They are still beautiful prints and packaged nicely so I refuse to throw them! £15 each plus P&P if you’re not in Swindon. Shout if you see one you like.
I know I’ve been practically non existent this past month but sometimes it’s a relief to step away from social media when there’s so much to do. However it’s not so great when you run a business from it ๐ฌ๐ I watch other accounts and envy their commitment and maybe one day that will be me but for now this is the best I can do.
Here’s some of the portraits I’ve done recently. Do you see yours?

Restocked my work at @theploughinnkelmscott after two were sold at the weekend. A beautiful cosy pub next to Kelmscott Manor, home of #williammorris which I still haven’t managed to visit even though my home is covered in it. Get yourself over there and while you’re enjoying dinner by the fire you’ll hopefully feel compelled to buy some of my work to take home with you.

I have 5 spaces left for Christmas pet portraits. Here’s a few of my favourites.
I’d just need a lovely clear headshot of the pet to work. If that isn’t possible or you think the recipient would prefer to choose their own photo/background colour I also do gift vouchers so they can be more involved with the process.
More information can be found at my website www.juliejonesartist.co.uk
